Unosquare Projects

2022 - present

During my time at Unosquare, I have worked primarily on maintaining a legacy project [Strikeforce Wireless - web, mobile, and admin], as well as building a project from the ground up [Jesus Disciple - web, mobile, and admin]. I’ve also worked with Bulletin Builder and the American Bible Society.

StrikeForce Wireless

StrikeForce Wireless is the app used for Browning Trail Cameras, providing both game monitoring and property security management. I’ve worked closely with this team to maintain the user-facing website and mobile app, adding in new features in Unosquare’s longest standing client. I also led the strategy sessions, road map, creation of all screens/features, weekly client meetings, and site map of the new internal-facing Admin. This project has been unique because of the physical Cameras hardware and limiting, complex old admin/payment systems. Through my time here, there’s not a single page of the application that I haven’t touched!

AI Features:

  • Deer Matching

    • For Deer Matching, we’re using AI to identify bucks within a user’s photos. The AI will compile all the images of bucks and suggest matches. Meaning, when a user comes to the app they will be notified of deer “matches”. The user can then go through and see the images of bucks, will bounding boxes around the buck that they can adjust. From here, the user can see AI suggested “matches” to other bucks the cameras have captured and the user have named, as well as the ability to “create a new deer”. This helps a user track game on their cameras to pinpoint the next great hunt.

  • Semantic Search

    • For Semantic Search, we’re using AI to identify content in images and allow user to search by phrases. A user has thousands of images during a hunting season and Semantic Search helps them find images they’ve possibly previously seen or quickly identify images that are most important to them for the current hunt. For example, “deer near blue car” or “man with ATV”. Semantic Search works in combination with our existing filters, narrowing down a users search even more.

    • In a V2, this feature will also include the abilitiy to search by deer named in the Deer Matching feature. For example, “Bowinkle near blue car” or “George, feeder, morning”.

Jesus Disciple

Jesus Disciple is a church app with a mission to reach disciples all over the globe, providing every day people with the tools to minister and spread the word of God. This project was one I’ve been involved in from the initial discovery workshop, strategy sessions, research, prototypes, and designing screens for web and mobile, and creating our first internal admin pages outside of Motor Admin for the client team to be able to manage content within the Jesus Disciple app. This project started fast and furious, with much of the design and development happening in tandem. It took over a year to slow down enough to do research and start making meaningful changes to the product.

Details & Feature List

  • Initial discovery workshop, multiple strategy workshops over 3 years, participation in multiple contract negotiations. I did research using UseBerry for moderated and unmoderated testing and worked with an outside researcher to create more in-depth moderated testing calls.

  • Creation of MVP roadmap, design system, custom icons, branding/colors, and custom map illustration in multiple languages

  • Grounding features: Account Creation, Groups, House Churches, Custom Checklists, Coaching, Group Leaders

  • Features in Year 2: House Churches, transitioning groups to house churches, Media Library, Group Leader contact info, Our Progress (analytics), PT Notes/Notes, Kid’s Checklist, various modals, addition of External Admin (in addition to the Motor Admin we started with), ability to choose other study plans outside of the original Territories, My Journey redesign (2), Network Home page redesign, addition of multiple languages in External Admin

  • Features in Year 3: Complete redesign of the Group creation flow, group structure, and navigation, addition of Non-Member functionality, My Journey redesign (3), Kid’s Checklist redesign (2), Dark Mode, addition of new app “Home”, modal redesigns

  • *this client was completely against the use of AI in any capacity.

Bulletin Builder

For this project, it started fast and furious. The client was extremely unhappy with the original designer’s work and put us behind the timeline significantly. Another designer was brought in to work closely with the client to get us back on track while I was brought in to build out a design system, file structure, and going through approved designs with a fine-tooth comb to ensure consistency. It was awesome to get to work with another designer to get things perfect. We were able to complete the design portion of the contract on time, but the developer portion was slowed down significantly with the internal restructure.

For this project, we were able to use Claude to help provide HTML/CSS for portions of the design system to help the developers get going faster and now is projected to be finished on time.

Other Projects

Through my time at Unosquare, I’ve also been the pioneer for creating Strategy Workshop and Client Meeting FigJams. This has been our source of truth from the discovery phase, road maps, project tracking, and collaboration with clients on design. We have since expanded to use Miro as well, but our clients prefer the collaborative FigJams for weekly calls and quick design iterations/feedback for ease of use and low barrier to entry.
